Exclusive: New Assassin’s Creed Funko Pop Celebrates The Franchise’s First Game
Funko has released a lot of video game collectibles over the years, but for its next big-headed nod to the gaming past, the brand is going way back in time to release a brand-new version of an iconic assassin. Hailing all the way back from the very first Assassin’s Creed game released in 2007, Altair is getting a new lease on life in the Game Cover Pop series.
Compared to the original one, this 2022 version of Altair has a more subtle pose, with his signature hidden blade unsheathed and ready for battle. There are also a number of new details on this figure, such as more intricately designed leather pieces, shinier paint on the gauntlets, and a coat of paint that has multiple layers to it. Like other Funko figures, this version of Altair stands at around four inches in height. As part of the Funko Game Covers series, it includes a display case featuring the cover art from the first Assassin’s Creed game.
The Assassin’s Creed series is expanding yet in 2023. A new single-player game called Assassin’s Creed Mirage is aiming to create a more digestible experience. It focuses on Valhalla’s Basim as he learns the assassination ropes of the Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed Infinity is being developed as a hub for future entries in the series. Beyond that, two larger Assassin’s Creed projects codenamed Red and Hexe are in development for the Infinity platform.
Project Red is an Assassin’s Creed game set in feudal Japan where you take control of a ninja who joins the Brotherhood, while the more secretive Project Hexe is hinting at a game set during the witch trials within the Holy Roman Empire.
