Revenant Hill, Spiritual Successor to Night In The Woods, Canceled
Revenant Hill, the spiritual successor to the popular indie game Night In The Woods, has been canceled. The game was being developed by Finji, the same studio behind Night In The Woods, and was set to be a narrative-driven adventure game with a focus on exploration and discovery.
Revenant Hill was announced in 2018, and was set to be a follow-up to the beloved Night In The Woods. The game was set to feature a similar art style and atmosphere, as well as a unique story that would explore themes of death and loss. Unfortunately, after two years of development, Finji has decided to cancel the project.
The studio cited a number of reasons for the cancellation, including the difficulty of developing a narrative-driven game, the need to focus on other projects, and the fact that the game was not meeting their expectations. Finji also stated that they had learned a lot from the development of Revenant Hill, and that they would be taking those lessons into their future projects.
The cancellation of Revenant Hill is certainly disappointing news for fans of Night In The Woods. However, Finji has promised to continue to develop games that explore similar themes and ideas, and hopefully they will be able to deliver on that promise in the future. In the meantime, fans of Night In The Woods can still enjoy the original game, as well as other titles from Finji such as Overland and Tunic.
